About this site

I am the co-founder and former president of The Norwegian Online News Association (NONA). As a journalist and columnist my beat was technology, media and social media.

I first started following social media trends in 2002, and have been blogging since 2005 - mostly on media and tech (before Ghost: On Typepad and Wordpress, and even Blogger). In fact, blogging has shaped much of my media career and been instrumental in landing me many commissions and jobs. I started my media career as a columnist for my local newspaper when I was 18, but also have a masters degree in journalism from City University in London.

Publishing is another industry I've worked on and off in, and I have had a deep love of books & language as long as I can remember. I currently work with science communication, online development and social media.

I launched my first media blog in September 2005, on Typepad. As the latter platform shut down in September 2025, I moved it here to Ghost and plan to keep blogging here.

After migrating my former Typepad-blog here, I still have quite a bit of tidying up to do - so old blog posts will currently have their share of broken links and image errors++ I will be tidying this up bit by bit as far as possible: When you've been blogging for 20+ years there will inevitably be quite a few links that are broken due to websites and blogs shutting down, changing platforms etc.
