Freesheet has more readers than Le Monde
Kampanje reports today that recent readership figures show Schibsted's free paper 20 Minutes has become the most widely read general interest newspaper in France, even surpassing Le Monde. To add to the woes of the traditional French press, the only French paper that can boast more readers than Norwegian-owned 20 Minutes is the sports newspaper L'Equipe.
Schibsted's free papers are now the most read papers in both France and Spain, but the freesheet business has yet to produce any substantial profits for the Norwegian media conglomerate, who launched its latest freesheet only yesterday.
